This month’s Object of the Month is a signed original print of Betteshanger Colliery brought in by former underground electrician and KMM volunteer Mick.

This month’s object is a photograph taken by Alfie, aged 13. Alfie entered our summer photography competition, winning first place for his fantastic shot of the blue lake.

This month, we will be taking a look at a lovely historical text from 1928.

For this month’s Object of the Month display, we look at an image of a Miners Gala Day held at the Betteshanger Welfare Sports Ground in 1954. 

This month’s object has been chosen by Tyler Harvey, undergraduate Anthropology student from the University of Kent, who is currently completing an internship with us at the Kent Mining Museum.

This month’s object has been chosen by Stevie who joined the Kent Mining Museum for work experience. During her time with us, she also had the chance to speak to KMM volunteer Tim Hughes about his experiences and recollections during the 1984-85 strike.

This month’s object has been chosen by Jim Davies, former Betteshanger miner, current trustee and volunteer for the Kent Mining Heritage Foundation and Kent Mining Museum.
